Behaviour Management services to support your child to be safe, happy and engaged with their day.

Behaviour Management Short Term Consultation

What is Behaviour Management Consultation?

Our behaviour management consultation at Super Kids runs for 8-12 weeks. We start with an individualised assessment of your child and their environment, whether at home or at school. First, we analyse why the behaviour occurs. Then we design a customised behaviour plan based on what we learn. After that, parental support begins so you can apply the tools you need and build on the foundation we establish in our sessions.

Tailored Support & Delivery Options

In this behaviour management consultation, we provide different levels of support, depending on the specific behaviours you are concerned about and your child’s learning goals. Moreover, we offer the consultation in-person, online, or via a hybrid model, whichever best suits your family’s needs.

Who would benefit from behaviour management consultation?

We tailor our behaviour management consultation to both neurotypical children (without a diagnosis) and neurodivergent children, for example those with Autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, or intellectual disability.

 We can help with:

  • Severe behaviours of concern, such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, dangerous play
  • Managing tantrums or other problem behaviours (e.g. whining, protesting)
  • Cooperation with adults and listening to instructions
  • Transitioning away from preferred activities (e.g. leaving the playground or putting the iPad down to come to the dinner table)
  • Tolerating being told ‘no’ or when their favourite things are removed or denied
  • Managing rigid behaviours and insistence on sameness
  • Picky eating
  • Improving relationships with siblings or caregivers
  • Sleep
  • Toilet training

Our Behaviour Management Consultation Process

1. Enquiry Application

First our team will assess your application to make sure we’re the right service provider for your family, that it is within our scope of competence and we can meet your expectations and reach your goals.

2. Discovery Call
Once we approve your application and have capacity, we’ll contact you by email to schedule a discovery call. During this call, we discuss your child’s unique behaviours, your concerns, and any additional questions you might have.

3. Service Offer
After the discovery call, we send you a detailed proposal. It outlines your behaviour management consultation plan, including schedule, sessions, and costs. If you accept, we’ll proceed with onboarding; if not, there’s no obligation.

4. Intake Meeting & Assessment
Next, you meet with a behaviour consultant. First, you attend an interview (your child does not need to be present). Then, in a separate appointment, both you and your child attend an assessment—either at Super Kids HQ or in your home. Based on this assessment, we’ll recommend which skills your child needs and the best way to teach them.

Assessment includes:

  • 1 hour telehealth meeting with Behaviour Consultant
  • 1 hour assessment session with Behaviour Consultant
  • Assessment results and recommendations

Cost: $660.00

5. Short-Term Behaviour Consultation Program
Finally, you begin the behaviour management consultation program. This program teaches you how to respond to challenging behaviours and helps your child develop new skills such as communication, toleration, waiting, and following instructions. Usually, it runs over 8-12 sessions across 8-12 weeks and is designed for children aged 2-12 with cooperation or emerging behaviour problems.

Cost: $193.99 per hour

Approx: $2,100 -$ 2,900.00 for 8-12 weeks of support

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

The Behaviour Management programs are short term (8-12 week) programs that are either focused on keeping your child (and those around them) safe and to develop general cooperation skills. It is not as intensive or comprehensive as an early intervention program which typically teaches across all developmental domains (for example, communication, play, social skills, motor skills, daily living skills, etc). If you’re not sure which program would be most appropriate, then please contact us for a discovery call and we can discuss this with you in more detail. Follow this link to book in a discovery call.

Depending on the purpose of the session, we offer services in a variety of ways for you to get the help you need, including:

  • Telehealth consultation
  • Phone consultation
  • Home sessions
  • Community access visits and educational settings (preschool, school)
  • In-centre sessions at Super Kids HQ in Gladesville

Please note that a travel charge will apply for sessions outside of HQ.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is based on the principles of learning which apply to all people, not just autistic children. It is a scientific approach to understanding behavior. ABA refers to a set of principles that focus on how behaviours change, or are affected by the environment, as well as how learning takes place. Every behaviour and skill that we all learn is a result of the same processes used in ABA! When we first meet your child, we will use an assessment to identify your child’s current skills and any support needs, and then develop an individualised set of programs to break down priority skills into smaller, easy to learn steps. Then we will continue to increase the complexity of these programs until they have met their short and long term goals.

Our initial discovery call is free. During this time we can decide what is the best service for you and your family. The fee structure is based on your needs and best practice recommendations for your child but does align with the NDIS price guide.

Yes. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will fund ABA services for autistic children and children with other developmental disabilities. Super Kids is not currently a registered NDIS provider, however, funding can still be used clients who have plans that are self-managed or plan-managed. If your plan is not currently self-managed, you can request for this to be changed by contacting your NDIS coordinator.

ABA is based on the principles of learning which apply to all people, not just autistic children. Your child does not need to have a diagnosis of autism to benefit from ABA. Many children with other developmental delays, such as global developmental delays, intellectual delays and speech delays may require support in achieving their goals. This also applies for neurotypical children who have problem behaviour.

Our behaviour management services are suitable for children aged 2-12 years and will be individualised based on their strengths and skills.
